Gabe Valla, a North Florida native, grew up in a musical family in the Gainesville area. His parents played music and his father operated a recording studio where Gabe was privy to the musicianship of such bluegrass greats as John Hartford, Gamble Rogers, Tony Rice, and Vassar Clements. From the time he was a teenager, Gabe was a “known quantity” in the bluegrass world having won contests such as the Merlefest Flatpick Guitar Championship (1995) and through his showcases and performances at festivals across the south. Gabe is an astute songwriter and flatpick guitarist who’s laid back demeanor underlies the elegant, melodic virtuosity that is a trademark of his playing.

Gabe is a sought after performer, session musician and producer and will be joined by the very talented Gamble Rogers Fest Musicians Lis Williamson, Lon Williamson, as well as Scott Anderson on banjo! This group is not to be missed!

The 2019 Gamble Rogers Music Festival is presented by Sing Out Loud Festival and takes place at the Colonial Quarter
